Dog Training for Your Whole Dog
Good behaviour doesn’t just look good, it feels great
Hi, I’m Karen!
I’m a dog trainer and canine behaviour practitioner with a passion for understanding what drives your dog’s behaviour so we can find lasting relief to your problems.
Does your dog?
Bark and lunge at other dogs?
Show signs of aggression over food, toys or people?
Struggle to spend time alone
Eat non-food items such as poop, plastic or wood?
These are all issues that I regularly help dog owners to understand and overcome.
My client’s often come to me with worries that their dog is aggressive, stubborn, dominant or disobedient.
It can feel very isolating and lonely when you have a dog showing signs of aggression. Perhaps your walks together feel fraught with stress as your dog is barking and lunging at passers-by, vehicles or dogs. Or maybe even at home, your dog is unsettled, reacting to noises and movements, unable to switch off.
I know that you want your dog to be happy and to be able to relax, and I’m here to help you achieve that. So that both you and your dog can fully enjoy life together without feeling like you’re living in a battleground.
A dog’s behaviour is a symptom. And so, to truly change the behaviour, we have to first understand the underlying cause of the behaviour.
At Your Whole Dog, the focus is to first understand the cause of your dog’s behaviour before developing a training plan to address it.
We’re not going to put a plaster on the problem; we’re going to uncover the root cause and treat it.

Do you suspect that your dog may be in pain?
If you have a niggling feeling that there’s something else going on with your dog, you could be right!
Most problem behaviours are actually a symptom of underlying pain or health issues such as gastro or dermatological conditions. But it can sometimes be very difficult for vets to get to the bottom of what’s going on in a 15-minute consultation.
Your dog arrives at the vets and is often fuelled by adrenalin and very tense – which can mask underlying problems making it a challenge for your vet to make a clear assessment.
I can help your vet to get an accurate reading on your dog’s physical wellbeing with my functional assessments. So you can finally get to the bottom of what’s driving your dog’s behaviour and treat it.
Dogs communicate through behaviour
Our dogs have only their behaviour to tell us how they’re feeling.
So if your dog’s behaviour is feeling challenging, then the best route to solve that is to figure out what’s motivating your dog’s perhaps problematic behaviour.
When we approach dog training with curiosity and understanding, we pave the way for not just a better-behaved dog, but a truly wonderful bond too.
